Year 5 & 6 Transition

At Castle View School we know that the transition of students from primary school to secondary education is a crucial time in their educational journey.

We do everything we can to ensure that students joining us for year 7 have a high quality transition programme that meets the individual needs of the student and their family.

We begin the transition process in Year 6 with the primary schools from which our new Year 7 cohort are transferring from. Through existing relationships Castle View has established with its feeder primary schools we are able to gain a range of information about each student’s academic progress as well as their personal and emotional needs that help us in planning the next steps of the transition programme. We aim, where able, to try and address some of the potential issues to a young person’s successful transition to Castle View before they being with us in the new academic year. We always encourage parents and carers to contact the school, where one of the transition team will be on hand to help, should you wish to discuss your child’s needs in more depth.
