Parents and carers should apply online using the Essex County Council Application for a Secondary School Place form. Students will normally be admitted at the age of eleven. Priority of admissions will be given to siblings of children already at the school and children living in the school’s local area. All applications including mid-year applications, must be made in accordance with the co-ordinated admission scheme operated by the child’s home Local Authority.
Deadlines and proof of residence should be adhered to by applicants. Parents and Carers wishing their child to be considered for entry at Castle View School must name the school as one of their preferences on the form.
Mid-Year Admissions Procedure
1.
An application for a mid-year admission should be submitted directly to the school for consideration. Forms can be obtained from the school. If a place is available a formal offer is made by the Castle View School.
2.
If a place is available a formal offer is made by the Castle View School. If a place is not available a letter is sent out advising the applicant to this effect and the applicant has the right to appeal. If the applicant is offered a place, once they contact the school a meeting will be arranged with the appropriate school staff to register the admission and explain the terms of the admission.
